In April 2022, Arcis Golf, the ownership and management company of Valencia Country Club, a private, 18-hole golf course located in Valencia, California elected to install Sand Guard bunker liners on their Jason Straka, ASGCA, designed course renovation project. The owner’s in-house construction team was trained on-site by Porous Pave/Sand Guard on the mixing and pour-in-place process following Sand Guard’s guidelines.
This project involved the complete renovation of the golf course, including redesign and repositioning of the bunkers based on the Master Plan developed by the golf architect. Sand Guard was installed within the bunker floors after the bunkers we shelled out, drainage installed and floors compacted.
The bunker liner installation process started with the back nine holes and was sequenced to completion with the lining of the front nine bunkers.
